Support dates checked against Microsoft Lifecycle official pages. Last updated August 2026.
Mainstream support has ended for every Dynamics NAV version. Under extended support, NAV 2017 is covered until January 12, 2027 and NAV 2018 until January 12, 2028, the final NAV deadline. Everything older is already out of support: NAV 2016 extended support ended April 15, 2026.
All NAV versions follow Microsoft's Fixed Lifecycle Policy: mainstream support ended by early 2023 for every version, and only the extended phase remains for the two newest releases. The dates that matter:
An unsupported NAV system does not stop working. But the conditions around it change, and they change in one direction:
The standard path off NAV is an upgrade to Business Central. Its online version is continuously updated, so end-of-support deadlines stop being your problem. Zentriq's tools run on Business Central online, not on NAV: once you land there, AP automation for Dynamics 365 and invoice matching in Business Central are day-one territory rather than a later project phase.
NAV 2018 mainstream support has already ended; extended support ends January 12, 2028. That is the final date on the Dynamics NAV lifecycle: after it, no NAV version receives security updates.
Only partially. Mainstream support has ended for all NAV versions. Two versions remain in extended support: NAV 2017 until January 12, 2027 and NAV 2018 until January 12, 2028. NAV 2016 and older are already out of support entirely; NAV 2016 extended support ended April 15, 2026.
Yes, the software keeps running. But Microsoft ships no security patches or fixes, so risk grows with every disclosed vulnerability, and compliance requirements such as e-invoicing mandates become harder to meet on a frozen platform.
There are two routes: a reimplementation on Business Central online, or a technical migration using Microsoft's tooling, usually run by a partner. The right choice depends on how customized your NAV is; heavily customized C/AL systems often favor reimplementation. Business Central online is the recommended target because it stays permanently current.

Zentriq Document Capture reads supplier invoices without templates and drafts the record in Business Central online. A human approves before anything posts.
